Bob's Bio

Writer, teacher, editor, Bob Boone, 66, holds a PhD in English Education from Northwestern University. He currently runs a private learning resource center north of Chicago and directs Young Chicago Authors, a scholarship program for inner city high school students. He has contributed to Writing, Current Media, The Chicago Reader, The Chicago Tribune, The Chicago Sun Times, Confluence, The Willow Review, and other journals, magazines and newspapers.

Bob's first book, a biography of baseball star Hack Wilson, was published in 1978. Since then he has written four textbooks and numerous articles. He was also a consultant for the movie Hoop Dreams.

Bob has been married to his wife Sue for 46 years. They have three children and five grandchildren.
